We at ZionInTravail do not consider this “our” ministry but rather the LORD’s ministry. We are but unprofitable servants whose duty it is to minister the gospel to the spiritually impoverished of the world.
Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Deuteronomy 15:7-8 7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: 8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
In the Bible God characterizes and typifies his elect as strangers, fatherless, and widows, for example,
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
God has a very particular concern for the spiritually poor of this world, so much so that Christ, though he never ceased to be eternal God, emptied himself of his glory and became poor.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Christ humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:8)
Christ identifies entirely with the spiritually impoverished of the world. In the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus in Luke 16:20-31, Lazarus ate the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table, the dogs licked his sores. The rich man received his good things during his lifetime. But when they both died, the rich man being buried in the grave “sees” Lazarus in the bosom of Abraham, and is tormented knowing he shall never be able to cross over the great gulf that lies between.
We read in the parable of Matthew 25:31-36 that Christ the King when he returns shall divide the sheep on his right from the goats on his left.
Matthew 25:34-36 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Matthew 25:37-40 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 — When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 — Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
The Bible says
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Fact: Roughly half of this world’s population live at or below the poverty level, and of those, only 25% have access to the internet. That leaves ~3 billion for whom the only means of reaching them is via radio or printed tracts. The vast majority of these live in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. These are the same areas that we have been active in sharing the gospel via radio and the printed tract.
In order to maintain and sustain these opportunities to do God’s will, requires the mammon of unrighteousness – money – to purchase airtime on radio stations and/or print distribute tracts.
Fact: The only ones who have a gospel that God is blessing today are those whose only authority is the Bible, alone and in its entirety, who are operating entirely outside the auspices and oversight of the churches, who understand that God does 100% of the work of salvation, who clearly understand and teach that God is saving a great multitude outside the churches during this time of great tribulation right up to the last day when we see Christ appearing, and who teach that Christ comes as the Judge of all the earth to execute wrath upon all who remain in their sins. When we pare down the ministries to those that meet this criteria, there are very few.
God has placed a burden on our hearts to reach his elect with the True Gospel. Will you join with us? This is God’s ministry.
