Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”
We are going to look into the Feast of Tabernacles, also called the Feast of Booths, in several studies.

Now as some of us are familiar and maybe some are not, the Bible lays down in God’s Word a number of feast days.
One of the fundamental principles that we have learned in all of our studies is based upon the passage that we read in Colossians 2:16-17:
“Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of a holy day or of the new moon or of the Sabbath days, which are a shadow of things to come…”
Remember that these verses were written after the beginning of the church age. So the language in verse 16 is talking about meat, drink, a holy day, new moon, and Sabbaths are all part of God’s ceremonial law. But in verse 17, God is indicating that these are a shadow of things to come.
And we also know that in the Bible, there were three primary feast days, those being the Feast of the Passover or the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which featured the killing of the Passover lamb. Secondly, the Feast of Weeks, also called the Feast of Firstfruits or Pentecost. And thirdly, the Feast of Tabernacles.
We know that the first two feasts were literally fulfilled. First of all, when Christ was crucified, he was crucified on the very day that they were observing the Feast of the Passover, because Christ is our Passover lamb. And secondly, the Feast of Weeks or the Feast of the Firstfruits or Pentecost is associated with God pouring out the Holy Spirit 50 days after Christ arose and 3,000 were saved in one afternoon. And the Bible calls that the Feast of the Firstfruits.
That still leaves the third feast, which is the Feast of Tabernacles, also called the Feast of Ingathering. And that feast is literally being fulfilled spiritually in our day and will be ultimately fulfilled on the last day when Christ returns and bodily raises all the believers. And that will be the literal fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles, because Christ said four times in John chapter 6, I will raise them up at the last day.
